Why choose The Juice Box?
I started this home after completing a residential treatment program followed by a stay at a sober living for a number of months. I was a daily drug user for a number of years prior. My goal in starting this house was to incorporate all the tools i have learned in my sobriety into the environment of sober living. For me that has included AA/NA meetings, a strong fellowship of sober friends, finding a routine and practicing it daily, and continuing to work on myself – among many other things.
I wanted to start a sober living that had a sense of community. A place that as soon as you move in, you have access to new sober networks of people, rides to meetings, and a positive environment of like-minded individuals taking life a day at a time. I’ve recovered from active addiction by learning how to connect again with the people around me. I try to keep an open mind, and have a willingness to incorporate into my daily life new tools I’ve learned from the people that have come before me.
Getting sober has been the most difficult experience of my life. It has also been the most rewarding. This house is all about working together to weather the storm. With action and time, things do get better. With a group of guys here who are going through similar experiences, it doesn’t have to be done alone. What I can’t do, we can.
We are located in the South Coast Metro area of Southern California. We are minutes from major shopping centers, the 55 Freeway, and South Coast Plaza. Please give us a call if you have any questions, or would like to take a tour of the house. If I am not able to help you for any reason, I can likely point you in the direction of someone who can 🙂
